Francois Nader, DO

Dr. Francois Nader is president and chief executive officer of NPS Pharmaceuticals, a worldwide leader in the development of high-value specialty therapeutics for gastrointestinal and endocrine disorders.

Dr. Nader has 25 years of experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical fields. He has held senior executive positions in international commercial operations, business development, research and development, and medical affairs throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States.

Dr. Nader joined NPS in 2006 as chief medical and commercial officer. He was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2007 and appointed to the NPS board of directors in January 2008. Previously, he was a venture partner at Care Capital, LLC and chief medical officer of its Clinical Development Capital unit. He has held senior management positions with Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Hoechst Marion Roussel, and its predecessor companies. Before joining Hoechst Marion Roussel, Dr. Nader served as head of global commercial operations at the Pasteur Vaccines division of Rhone-Poulenc.

Partnering with his wife Micheline, Dr Nader founded the Blue Dolphin Health group, a senior-care company that owns and operates 400 nursing-home beds and employs over 450 healthcare professionals.

Dr. Nader holds a French State Doctorate in Medicine from St. Joseph University, an MBA from the University of Tennessee, a graduate degree in medical marketing, and a degree in finance from France. Dr. Nader currently teaches in the University of Tennessee¹s Physician Executive MBA program, from which he is a graduate.
